Bernice Alice Reinke, daughter of Wilhelm and Linda (Holtzen) Eickmann, was born September 17, 1929 at Deshler, Nebraska. She passed from this life Friday, September 23, 2011 at Thayer County Hospital in Hebron, Nebraska at the age 81 years. On October 9, 1949 she was united in marriage to Elmer E. Reinke at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Deshler, Nebraska by Rev. H.F. Krohn. The Lord blessed this union with five sons and two daughters: Steven, Craig, Bradley, Curtis, Burdon, Deanne, and Christine. They lived and farmed in the Davenport area most of their lives. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer in 2005; and her sisters Margaret Saathoff and Mildred Blumenthal. She will be forever remembered by her children Steven Reinke and wife Judith, Davenport, Craig Reinke and wife Sheila, Omaha, Bradley Reinke and wife Shirley, Westcliff, Colorado, Curtis Reinke and wife Vickie, Fort Collins, Colorado, Burdon Reinke and wife Lori, Olathe, Kansas, Deanne Brien and husband Ray, Brighton, Colorado, and Christine Schroeder and husband Scott, Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Branden (Sharon) Gonzales, Jeremy & Jed Reinke, Jenny (Josh) Conrad, Josie (Jared) Bauer, Tony (Karalee) Reinke, Michelle (Jay) Reinke, Amy (Tim) Martens, Allison (Andrew) Penke, Jolie (Lucas) Epp, Zachary (Carla) Reinke, Bethany, Emma, Chloe, Ivy, and Sophia Reinke, Miranda (Sean) Johnson, Colby, Kent, and Kelby Reinke, Ava Schroeder; great grandchildren: Christian & Ryan Gonzales, Keeley, Nicholas, Emory, and Malekai Conrad, Owen & Cooper Bauer, Jonathan, Christabell, and Bunyan Reinke, Thomas Akins, Lydia & Rome Martens, Zathan Epp, and Elliott Johnson; brother Delmar Eickmann and wife Florence, Sedan, Nebraska; sisters Loraine Scheer, Oklahoma City, and Eileen Styck, Brunning Nebraska; brother-in-law Floyd Blumenthal, Colorado; sisters-in law Olga Reinke, Davenport, Edna Reinke, Deshler, and Dorothy Reinke, Lincoln, Nebraska ; many other relatives and a community of friends.
