Violet “Mae” Weaver, the oldest child of George and Ida (Bush) Billups, was born on June 27, 1928, in Huntington,  West Virginia.   She passed away on October 26, 2011, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler,  Nebraska, a t the age of 83 years, 3 months and 29 days. She received her education in the Huntington, West  Virginia schools and later completed her GED. Mae was married to Ellis Weaver in 1956.  The couple was blessed with a daughter, Ruthanne.  Mae worked for 20 years at Owens Illinois Glass Company.  Her husband Ellis passed away in 1986 so Mae and her family moved to Byron, Nebraska to be closer to her sister, Ruby Krause and family.  She then worked selling advertising for the Lutheran Digest magazine and also worked at Blue Valley Community Action with the Green Thumb Program.  She was baptized on July 10, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Ceredo, West Virginia.  After moving to Deshler Mae became a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Deshler where she was confirmed when she was an adult by Rev. Duane Fahr. Her confirmation verse was Romans 1:16. She was a very religious person and enjoyed Christian music and Christian television programs.  She loved animals and had a dog, cat, 2 parakeets and 10 finches prior to moving to Parkview Haven Nursing Home in 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellis; and grandson, Bubba Hardesty.  She is survived by her daughter Ruthanne Hardesty and husband Arnold of Grand Island, NE; three grandsons, Andrew and wife Heather, Samuel and Aaron; and one great-grandson, Michael; many other relatives and friends.
