Margie P (Brown) Holtzen

February 13, 1952 ~ October 31, 2017 (age 65)

Margie Pauline Holtzen, daughter of Wayne and Pauline (Sherwood) Brown was born February 13, 1952 at Hastings, Nebraska. She passed from this life unexpectedly Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Thayer County Hospital, Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 65 years.  She was baptized in the Lutheran Church March 22, 1964. Her family moved to the Davenport area and she attended schools there, graduating from Davenport High School in May 1970. Margie was united in marriage to Rodney Elmer Holtzen on October 7, 1972 and to this union three children, Michael, Amy and Katie were born. She confirmed her faith on May 30, 1973. Over the years Margie worked various jobs including in the Laundry Department of Parkview Haven, Deshler, Nebraska for 21 years. She was looking forward to retiring in February of 2018. She loved baking cakes for weddings, graduations, and other festive occasions. She enjoyed being outside, spending time with her grandchildren and going to their activities and traveling with her dear friend Karen. Margie’s hobbies included gardening, reading, crocheting, raising chickens, her card clubs, and recently picking up a love for genealogy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Lonnie  Brown.  Margie will be greatly missed, but forever remembered by her husband Rodney of their home; children Amy & Dave Sanderson, Holland, Nebraska, Michael & Cristy Holtzen, rural Davenport, Nebraska, and Katie & Raymond Wright, Deshler, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren, Sabre Dunlap, Brandon Dunlap, Makayla Wright, Alex Wright, Gillian Sanderson, Zachary Sanderson, Elly Sanderson, Alexis Holtzen, Cord Holtzen, and Ryver Holtzen; sister Jana & Larry Muller, Bellevue, Nebraska; brothers Larry Brown and David & Betty Brown all of Lincoln, Nebraska; in-laws Elmer & Mildred Holtzen, Deshler, Nebraska; sister-in-law Barb & Jeff Bedke, Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law Dale & Ramona Holtzen, Davenport, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
