Adel Marian Posvar was born October 20, 1919 at Martland , NE and died August 2, 2012. Her parents were Antone F. and Mamie Minerva Smith Posvar. She was one of eight children born to this union. Adel Posvar and Carl Segerdahl were married in 1939. One daughter, Carla Pauline, was born to this union. Carl died in a car accident in 1953. During this time Adel was an accountant for the Deshler Broom Factory and then for the Deshler Municipalities. She was active in the Deshler Presbyterian church by teaching Sunday school and using her musical talents to sing and play piano. Adel and Walter Thieman were married in 1956. Two children, Kim Rachelle and James Stewart, were born to this union. Adel took an active part in Friedensau Lutheran Church and then eventually at New Life Assembly of God in Hebron . Preceding Adel in death were husband Carl Segerdahl, husband Walter Thieman, parents Antone and Mamie Posvar, brother Fred Posvar and wife Ruth, sister Edna and husband Edgar Deterding, brother Arthur Posvar and wife Garnet, sister Mildred and husband Earl Hilterbrand, sister Erma Jean Tormey, sister Florence and husband Henry Struve, brother Bill Posvar and wife Evelyn, and sons-in-law Lester Miller and Roger Miller. Those surviving Adel are daughter Carla Miller of Dorr , MI , daughter Kim Schmidt of Rockville , MD , son James Thieman and family of Omaha , NE. Other surviving relatives include brother-in-law Milton Tormey of CA, brother-in-law Otto Thieman and wife Doris of Little Rock, Arkansas, brother-in-law Richard Thieman and wife Pat of Virginia Beach, VA, and sister-in-law Peggy Thieman Jones of Texas , 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Adel's greatest joy in her life was being used by our Lord Jesus Christ.
