Arlene Ann Corliss, the youngest child of Gene and Marie Day, was born in Hebron, Nebraska, on October 19, 1940. She passed away peacefully on March 4, 2017. She attended Hebron Public Schools, where she graduated in 1959. While in high school, she was busy in many activities, including cheerleading. She married Roger Corliss at the age of 18 and they were together for 16 years. They had 4 children, of which their first child, a daughter named Laura, died at childbirth. The town of Hebron was the love of her life. Arlene lived her entire life in Hebron and was happy to raise her children there. She worked various part time jobs before being hired at the assessor’s office in the courthouse, which is where she spent the rest of her career. She retired at the age of 68. She enjoyed playing bridge, watching her grandkids in various activities, gardening and making sure all the birds at her house were well fed. However, her favorite past time was going for rides around Hebron or on the river road. It wasn’t uncommon to see her tooling around Hebron with her dog Tawny as passenger. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Laura and brother Dean Day. She is survived by her 3 children: Roger (Denise) Corliss of Livermore, Colorado; Rory (Kathy) Corliss of Lavista, Nebraska; and Jody (Brian) Hergott of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her brother Don Day of Hebron; and her sister Betty Hayes of Pasadena, California; as well as 10 grandkids: Cortney Corliss, Chance Corliss, Kendall Dahlstrom, Colin Corliss, Katy Corliss, Caleb Mitchell, Austin Hergott, Landon Hergott, Briana Hergott and Paige Haigh; and 7 great-grandchildren: Lukas Corliss, Wyatt Collins, Brooke Mitchell, Greg Mitchell, William Mitchell, Liam Hergott, and Tinley Dahlstrom. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
