Bertha M. Dana, of Hebron , the daughter of Henry William and Marjorie Mae (Gavin) Ross, was born February 22, 1926 in rural Geneva , NE. She passed from this life on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron , Nebraska at the age of 87 years. Bertha spent her childhood years growing up in Nebraska and Missouri and graduated from Green Ridge High School in Missouri . She later married Charles Dana on June 1, 1949 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and they spent 31 wonderful years together. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was part of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and was very active in the Blue Valley Community Action. Bertha enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and her family. Those that preceded her in death are her parents; her husband, Charles on June 1, 1980; brothers, John Ross and Royal (Pete) Ross; sisters, Mary Lane, Margaret (Peggy) Files and Rose Ross; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Wiedel, Oral Lane and Clair (Red) Files; a sister-in-law, Dondi Ross; son-in-law, Gray Keen; and great-grandson, Brice McLaughlin. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses, William (Janice) Dana of Houston, TX, Phyllis Keen of Bruning, NE, Richard (Linda) Dana of Carleton, NE and Mark (Patti) Dana of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Marjorie Wiedel of Osborne, KS; sister-in-law Elizabeth Ross of Albany, GA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 step grandchildren.



Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church , Hebron



Rosary Service:6:30 PM, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Price Funeral Home in Hebron



Book Signing: Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM



Bertha chose to donate her body to science and inurnment will be at a later date.



In lieu of flowers Bertha has requested memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
