Bruce William Gidley passed away at Cypress Wood Care Center, Angleton, Texas on the morning of September 21, 2018 at the age of 69.



Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2018, at Ahrendts Funeral Home, Deshler, NE with Pastor Rich Stevenson, Peace Lutheran Church, officiating. Bruce was born in Hastings, Nebraska on June 13, 1949. He attended High School in Deshler, Nebraska and earned his GED in 1972. He also attended vocational tech training in Hastings, Nebraska. Bruce served in the United States Army from 1971 to1980. After his military service, he worked for the Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska as a pharmacy tech. Bruce enjoyed traveling, skiing, running and caring for his beloved cats. His travels took him as far as Russia. In 2016, Bruce moved to Galveston, Texas. In 2017 he suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. He spent his remaining months in Cypress Woods Care Center and was often visited by his friend Karolyn Carson Harrison. Bruce is survived by his brother, Steve Seamans and wife Linda of Ogallala, Nebraska and nephews Ben Seamans and wife Kati of Arvada, Colorado and Jackson Seamans of Lincoln, Nebraska. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents Clyde Gidley, and Lewis and Lorene Seamans. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Deshler, NE.
