Calvin Lynn Jones

Calvin Lynn Jones was born July 28th, 1950 at Hebron, Nebraska to Orvis "Bill" Leslie Jones and Lillian "Bernice" Judy Wise Jones. Calvin went to Nora District 88 School, K through 8th grade, then Ruskin High School graduating with the Class of 1968. He was a member of the Nora Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Kansas National Guard for 6 years.

Calvin lived and worked on the family dairy farm in Oak, Nebraska, until 1985. He became a truck driver for Jensby Trucking of Hardy, Nebraska until 1993, Dahlsten Trucking for three years and then owned his own truck. In 2002, he retired from trucking due to his back surgeries that left him disabled.

Calvin was married to Barbara Soper on October 21st of 1973. They were blessed with four children: Kevin, Melinda, Brandon and Stacy. He loved to hunt, especially deer, fishing and gardening, but most of all he loved spending his time with his children, grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren.

On Monday, February 3, 2020 he passed from this life at his home in Hebron. He was 69 years of age. Calvin will be forever remembered by his wife Barbara Jones of their home; children Kevin and Terra Jones, Fairmont, Nebraska, Melinda and Johannes Coetzee, Carleton, Nebraska, Brandon Jones, Carleton, Nebraska, Stacy and Keith Herrman, Hebron, Nebraska. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Melissa and Cody Barry, Joshua and Megan Erickson, Kayla Lipker, Clay Jones, Sean Jones, Christian Jones, Hattie Jones, Hope Herrman and Chase Herrman; two great-grandchildren, Connor Barry and Ezamae Erickson; other relatives and friends. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Bernice Jones.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, 2020 at Price Funeral Home, Hebron, Nebraska with First United Methodist Pastor Rick Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest in Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin, Nebraska. Memorials to the family.
