Carol Ann Itzen, 56, was born February 26, 1970, in Fairbury, Nebraska, and passed away on August 27, 2026, in Belleville, Kansas, following a brief illness.

Carol was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Gladstone, Nebraska. She enjoyed working as a nurse’s aide/med aide and spending time with her parents and her beloved cat Pepper. Carol also enjoyed collecting Garfield memorabilia. She lived a simple, quiet life, often with a Diet Mountain Dew in her hand.

She is survived by her brother, Kurt Itzen (Anne); nephews Aaron Itzen (Krista) and Justin Itzen (Lacey) and their families; along with extended family.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Don and Barb Itzen, and her brother, Mike Itzen.

Carol was cremated, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Thayer County Health Services and Republic County Hospital for their kindness and care for Carol’s health.
