) passed away on October 31, 2012, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler. He was born in
Boulder
,
Colorado
on August 11, 1924 to Chris and Blanche Roth. He moved with his parents to Callaway at the age of 1. He was a graduate of
Callaway
High School
in 1942 and recently returned for his 70 year class reunion. He lived 80 years in the Callaway area before he and Ardis moved to Deshler in October of 2005. They wanted to be closer to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlie was a very personable man and never met a stranger. He was a farmer all of his life and loved the land. After he sold the farm ground, he always helped the Pandorf's with swathing, truck driving or whatever those boys needed him to do. He enjoyed helping wherever he could and even up until his health started failing, he talked crops and what needed to be done. He married Ardis L. Bassett on November 12, 1944 and she preceded him in death in March 2007. He leaves to mourn his passing his son Ron and wife Leta Roth of
North Platte
; his grandson Chris and wife Kim Roth and their children, Katie, Mason, Sydney and Adam of Deshler; a granddaughter Melody and husband Brandon McElwee; and great-grandsons

. He also leaves his daughter Cathy and husband Kelly Kolb of
Lincoln
; granddaughter Keri and husband Brent Cooper and their children Jailyn & Makenna Burt and Kody and Braeden Cooper of Waverly; and grandson Stan and wife Amy Kolb and their daughters Courtney and Allyssa of Lincoln. Other family members to mourn him are a brother-in-law Raymond Kolbo of Callaway; a sister-in-law Luetta Bassett of Arnold; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jeanette and Al Andrew of
North Platte
; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister Shirley Kolbo of Callaway and brother-in-law Richard Bassett of
Arnold
