Christopher Ernst, 41, of Hebron, Nebraska passed away on July 3, 2024. Christopher was born on December 12, 1982, to Larry Ernst and Jayne Fox. He was Baptized, received First Communion and was Confirmed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron. Christopher was raised by Jayne and Kevin Fox in Hebron, NE where he attended school graduating from Hebron High School in 2001. He continued his education at Manhattan Area Technical College gaining his technical certificate in electric power and distribution in December of 2012.
After graduation Chris returned to Hebron where he began employment working on his Grandpa’s farm alongside his Uncle Jim and cousins Tyler and Taylor. A short time later he began employment at Napa auto parts store. He worked at Napa consistently only taking a brief break working at Case IH, ultimately returning to Napa. He had a passion for working with vehicles and knew everything there was to know about the business. He mentioned many times how much he enjoyed the work he was able to do daily.
Christopher married Kiley Campbell on September 11, 2021, and in combination had 4 children, Izelee, Kingston, Astrid, and Malik. Chris spent much of his time in his garage, watching Husker football, riding his motorcycle, going camping and enjoyed trail riding. Everyone that knew Christopher would be consumed by his fun spirit. He loved to play pranks on family members and would joke around as often as possible. Not a day will go by that his infectious laugh won’t be missed.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father Larry Ernst, grandparents Eugene and Barbara Wiedel of Hebron, Glen Fox of Frankfort, KS; Willard and Joan Ernst; Mel and Claudia Braden of York; and Hugh Campbell of Hebron.
He is survived by parents Jayne and Kevin Fox of Hebron, NE; wife Kiley Ernst and their children Izelee, Kingston, Astrid and Malik; sister Stacey and Shane Llewellyn and their children Caycen, Mason and Laken of Pierce, NE; and sister Lindsey Ernst and her child Livya of Lincoln NE; grandma Katheryn Fox of Frankfort, KS; grandma Phyllis Campbell of Hebron, NE; father in-law Earl and Mary Campbell of Hebron, NE; mother in-law Veronica and Marty Ognoskie and their daughter Nora of Hebron, NE; brother In-law Christopher and Joni Campbell and their children Camden and Paxton of Hebron, NE; brother in-law Curtis and Hillary Campbell and their children Kendyll and Cade of Hebron, NE; sister in-law Nicole and AJ Starke and their children Henry and Lilly of Salix, IA; and sister in-law Ashley and Mitch Jasper and their child Arora of Gardner, KS.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, with Father Steve Major officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Campbell, Curtis Campbell, Earl Campbell, Kevin Fox, Tyler Wiedel, Taylor Wiedel and Shane Llewellyn. Inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Hebron. In lieu of flowers, memorials in care of the family.
