Claydon Dean Nelson

Claydon Dean Nelson (85) left his earthly home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Parkview Haven in Deshler, Nebraska.  He was born on June 5, 1937 in Sutton, Nebraska to Clayton and Helen (Johnson) Nelson.

Dean was baptized on December 5, 1937 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Ong, Nebraska.  He was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport, Nebraska.

He attended country school and then Davenport High School.  Dean graduated from Fairbury Jr. College and worked at Urbauer Furniture store before entering the army in 1960.  He served in the Armed Forces for two years and then continued working for Urbauer furniture store in Davenport until Lester Urbauer retired.

His real love was farming and attending to his cattle.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brother Jan Nelson.  Leaving to mourn his passing are his two sisters, Diana (Don) Killman of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Sheila (Dennis) Witfoth of Lincoln, Nebraska.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ’s Lutheran Church, Davenport, Nebraska at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  Interment at Ong Public Cemetery in Ong, Nebraska.  Viewing will be Wednesday, September 7th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. also at the church.  Memorials will go to Christ’s Lutheran Church or your choice.   Price-Urbauer-Ahrendts Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.   www.priceurbauerahrendts.com.
