Connie Jean Pesek

Connie J. Pesek of Hebron, NE passed awayJuly 2, 2021 in Lincoln. She was bornAugust 14, 1937 to Harry & Lois (Miller) Shields, Sr. on the family farm, delivered by Dr. G. R. Taylor. Connie was raised as an only child untilSeptember 2, 1944, when a brother Harry Jr. arrived, also delivered by Dr. G. R. Taylor.

Connie had a normal childhood, growing up in a small community. At the age of 11 onMarch 28, 1948 she was baptized into the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church by Ralph Dyle. Her grandmother, Katherine Barbara Miller helped raise Connie, as she lived close by, and thought Connie could do no wrong.

She started school inSeptember 1942at the Old Lincoln Grand School. Her faithful companion, Bow Wow would follow her to and from school to see that she arrived safely.

Connie belonged to the Daughters of the Nile Naphis Temple #66, Dual membership with Temple Chapter 271, Lincoln, Hebron Chapter #31 where she was Past Matron 3 times.

Connie served as fraternity Housemother at Delta Upsilon then Phi Delta Theta at UNL from the early 80's until the late 90's. She also served as Housemother to Greek chapters at Rutgers and the University of Missouri in the early 2000's. She looked after hundreds of collegians during her career and worked diligently to ensure each of them had a better experience.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am at Hebron City Cemetery in Hebron, NE. Cremation has taken place. Price Funeral Home in Hebron is assisting with arrangements.
