Donavon Lee Holtzen

Donavon Lee Holtzen, 44, of Belvidere, NE, passed away on August 3, 2014. He was born in Hebron, NE on September 23, 1969, the son of Verdell and Dorothy (Marquart) Holtzen.

He grew up in Deshler, NE and graduated from Deshler High School with the class of 1988. After graduating, Donavon worked at Ipsco Inc. in Geneva, NE, while residing in the Bruning and Belvidere areas.

Donavon enjoyed going on gambling trips with his mother, siblings and other friends. He also liked being outdoors and fishing. He loved spending time with his dog Buddy and most of all with his nieces and nephews. He loved being an Uncle. Donavon was always upbeat no matter the situation. He always had a smile.

Those also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dorothy Holtzen; Donavon’s siblings and their families, David and Ronda Holtzen and their children, Brian and Amanda of Glenwood, IA, Dwayne Holtzen and his children, Dalton and Whitney of Bruning, NE, Kathleen Eldridge and her children, Tatyana, Joshua, and Matthew of Denton, TX, Karleen and Pat Reinsch and their children, Patrick and Kassidy of Sidney, NE and Kristie and Bob Wilkins and their children, Colby, Holden, Hunter and Kaylee of Bruning, NE; and 5 great nephews.

Donavon was preceded in death by his father, Verdell and his grandparents.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, NE with Reverend Stuart A. Sell officiating. Congregational Hymns were "Onward Christian Soldiers", "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Myra Kluck. The Honorary Pallbearers were his great nephews: Ethan, Justin, Carson, Ryan, and Kyson. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to the Family.
