Dorthea Minna Duensing, the daughter of William and Ida (Hobelman) Duensing, was born on December 22, 1925, near Deshler Nebraska. She passed away on June 9, 2016 in Lincoln Nebraska at the age of 90. She was baptized on January 10, 1926 by Rev. L.C. Lentz at St. John Lutheran Church, south of Deshler. She attended Bible school at St. John Lutheran and Grade school at District #91. Upon completion of her instruction in the Christian Faith, she was confirmed on May 5, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church by Rev. L.C. Lentz and was received into communicant membership. She grew up on the family farm south of Deshler where she lived until the sudden death of her father in 1947. The family then moved to Hebron Nebraska. On July 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Martin Reinke in Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron Nebraska. The Lord blessed this union with three children, James, Yvonne, and Daryl. They lived on a farm northwest of Byron until 1952, then they moved to their farm west of Hebron and lived there for 28 years. They moved to Hebron in 1980 and lived there until moving to Lincoln Nebraska for their last years. Dorothy was a faithful, loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Lutheran Church her entire life. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She loved nature and flowers, especially her hybrid Iris, where she spent many hours caring for them. She is survived by her daughter Yvonne Rauner and husband Robert, daughter-in-law Lynette Reinke, and son Daryl; grandchildren Paul and Brian Rauner, Tim, Phillip, and Michael Reinke, and Jordan and Dylan Reinke, and 15 great grandchildren and2 great-great grandchildren. Other survivors are sisters-in-law Olga Reinke and Edna Reinke, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Duensing, husband Martin, sister, Garnet Koch, son, James, and grandson Kevin Rauner. Funeral services held Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Deshler, Nebraska with The Reverend Brian Francik officiating. Burial was in the Deshler City Cemetery. Joyce Schmidt was the organist and the congregational hymns were In the Garden, How Great Thou Art, and What A Friend We Have In Jesus. Memorials have been established to St. Peters Lutheran Church of Deshler or United Leukodystrophy Foundation in memory of grandson Kevin Rauner. Price-Urbauer-Ahrendts Funeral Homes of Deshler, Davenport, Hebron, Nebraska were entrusted with these arrangements.
