Elsie Lillian Mueller, the daughter of Christian and Emma (Carlsen) Jorgensen, was born on December 14, 1915, in
Superior

Wisconsin
.
She was one of two children born to her parents.
She passed away on February 12, 2011, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in
Deshler
,
Nebraska
, at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 28 days.
She was an active member of
Bethlehem
Lutheran
Church
(Kiowa) and St. Peters Lutheran at Deshler. Elsie attended
Davenport
schools and was a
Davenport
High School
graduate.
She then went on and furthered her education at Peru State College where she obtained her teaching certificate.
She taught at a country school near Oak, then at
Davenport
and
Carleton
Public Schools
. She was united in marriage to Arnold Mueller, on May 15, 1943 at the home of her parents in
Edgar
,
Nebraska
.
This 45 year union was blessed with five children Ruth, Sharon, Shirley, Dale and Wayne.
The family lived in the rural
Davenport
area where they farmed. Elsie was an avid gardener, she also enjoyed nature, bird watching, Husker football, playing games and cards with her family and friends, and loved taking care of her pets, her dog Bono and numerous cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Emma Jorgensen; husband, Arnold in 1988; daughter, Sharon Meyer; brother, Carl Jorgensen; and sister_in_law, Edna Phillips. She is
survived by
her children: Ruth (Duane) Hoffman of Chico, TX; Shirley (Tom) Linstroth of Minneapolis, MN; Dale Mueller of Aurora, NE; and Wayne (Cindy) Mueller of Davenport; 12 grandchildren, 15 great_grandchildren; and 1 great_great_grandchild; sister-in-law, Florence Jorgensen of Holdrege; close friend, Lorene Bethke; nieces and nephew: MaryAnne Peters, Petrea Flagel, Patria Wilkinson, Judy Miller, Karen Rodgers, Connie Englund, and David Jorgensen; and many other relatives and friends.
