Ervin George Krakow of Belvidere, NE the son of Jack and MaryLou (Scheil) Krakow was born March 5, 1967 in Omaha, NE. He departed this life January 3, 2022 in Bruning, NE at the age of 54 years.
Erv grew up in rural Hebron attending school and graduating from Hebron High School with the class of 1985. He furthered his education attending SCC Beatrice receiving a degree in AgriBusiness.
After college Erv came home and helped his father on the farm, even as he worked for various farmers in the area. He always enjoyed farming, and raising cattle. He also worked for Williams Drilling at Belvidere, Reinke Mfg at Deshler, Endicott Clay at Endicott, and the Village of Belvidere.
Erv enjoyed fishing, although he chose to set bank lines instead of using a fishing pole. He and Jerry Sterba caught many large catfish out of the Little Blue River. He loved going to the dances at Toad’s and participating in area pool tournaments.
He loved anything to do with motors and the power of them. When he was younger he would go with his dad and sister to tractor pulls. Later on he helped Jim Wassom and Dale Turner with their demo cars, being part of the pit crew. He even raced a lawn mower one year in the lawn mower races on the 4th of July at Hebron. Later in life he helped Dave Wenske with his pulling truck.
Erv loved spending time with his family and friends and especially with his Nephew Colby, whom he often referred to as “Bish”, short for Colbish. He was never as happy as when he found out he was going to be an uncle.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ervin and Altina Scheil, George and Jessie Krakow, mother MaryLou Krakow, and niece Brett Christian.
He is survived by his father Jack Krakow of Hebron, sister Jessica Christian and husband Kevin of Hebron, nephews Colby Klaus of Hebron, Chevy Christian and wife Breya of Lincoln, NE, Timmin Christian and wife Kallie of Lincoln, NE, great nephews Raiden and Greyson Christian of Lincoln, NE. Aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
The family will hold a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hebron Bible Church in Hebron. Inurnment at the Belvidere Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family at 1174 Road 6500, Hebron, NE 68370.
