Fern Margerie Kreimeyer was born on August 26, 1925 in Deshler, Nebraska to Fred W. Kreimeyer Jr. and Augusta (Nunnenkamp) Kreimeyer. She joined her brother Ordale and sister Eileen. She was baptized on September 19, 1925. When Fern was 2 years old, her father passed away and her mother married Walter Koerwitz. To this union another sister, Vera Jean Koerwitz, was born. Fern met her Savior on Friday, May 26, 2017 when she passed away at the Blue Valley Nursing Home, Hebron, Nebraska. She was 91 years of age. Fern married Ralph Edward Pool on August 12, 1945. To this union two children were born, Betty Jean and Gary Lee. She worked at the Deshler Broom Factory, the Hebron Broom Factory, the ASCS Office in Hebron, Central Market, and the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Co. Fern was very active in the Hebron Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and Bible classes, and the VFW Auxiliary in Hebron. After Fern and Ralph retired, they went south for the winters. They enjoyed the Rio Grande River Valley in southern Texas. After Ralph passed away in 1993, Fern continued to return to the valley until her health prevented her to. She did many crafts through out her life; tatting, knitting, greeting cards, wood carving, stained glass, and many more. She was often called the "craft queen". She also enjoyed camping, fishing and the out of doors. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ordale, sisters Eileen Van Winkle and Vera Jean Siebenneicher, son-in-law George LeRoy Beers; and many other relatives. She will be forever remembered by daughter Betty Beers, Milford, Kansas; son Gary and wife Deborah (Christiansen) Pool, Grand Island; grandchildren Brenda Tyrell, Junction City, KS, Brian Beers, Prairie Grove, ARK, Andrew Pool and wife Erin (Overhalser), Waverly, NE, Kevin Pool and wife Lisa (Jensby), Grand Island, and David Pool and wife Sarah (Boehle), Bennet, NE; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
FAMILY WILL BE GREETING FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM 6PM TO 8PM MONDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
