. He passed away on August 11, 2011 at the age of 84 years with his family by his side in

. He was baptized at

Church
, attended parochial school and was confirmed. He graduated from
Deshler
High School
. After returning from the service he was a business owner for nearly twenty five years. The family moved to
York
,
NE
for a period of time and he worked at a wholesale company, A.J. Dresdan. Floyd and Dorothy returned to their hometown Deshler several years ago. Floyd volunteered as an assistant and head usher for many years and was a cemetery and grounds keeper at
Peace
Lutheran
Church
. He was a volunteer for the fire department, delivered meals-on-wheels and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Floyd is survived by his wife Dorothy; one son David Sorge of
El Paso
,
Texas
and two daughters: Ruth, and Patty Sorge of York; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Floyd has three surviving brothers-in-law Harold and wife Joyce Heyen of
Ceresco
,
NE
, Leonard Heyen of Ruskin and Walter and wife, Blanche Heyen of
Hastings
,
NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Clara Sorge.
