Georgianna Baruth was born January 18, 1935 to Walter Paul and Clara Etta Bennett Baruth on the family farm North of Powell NE. She lived there with her parents until she was about six years old, then the family moved to Grantsbury, WI, where they lived on a farm.
Georgianna Baruth received Christian Baptism on December 7 th , 1941 at the Center Methodist Church in Grantsbury, WI, by Rev. Edmund G. Ulrich. After the birth of her little sister Pauline, the family moved back to Powell, NE on the family farm.
Georgianna attended the country school at District 102 and graduated from the eighth grade May 24, 1948. She then went to Alexandria High School through her sophomore year, then went to Fairbury High for one year, then returned to Alexandria High School where she graduated with the class of 1952. She attended Peru State Teacher’s College and received her teaching Certificate. She taught for two years in rural schools in Thayer County then moved to Lincoln where she worked at various jobs.
July 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to Ronald Sukovaty at the Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, NE. The marriage ended in divorce in 1958.
During her life Georgianna moved to a lot of different states. For about 10 plus years, she became a semi over the road trucker which she enjoyed and she did enjoy meeting new people. She lived in Schulyer, NE for about 10 years, then moved to Hubbell, NE, then moved to Hebron, NE. Due to failing health she entered the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing home in January of 2015 where she resided until her death on November 9 th , 2015. On November 4 th , 2015 Georgianna acknowledged and accepted her Savior Jesus Christ back into her life. Give all the Praise and Glory to God for that reunion that she has in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.
Georgianna was a beautiful seamstress making many beautiful outfits for her nephews Jerry and Terry, and her niece Renae. She also loved to bake Christmas Cookies, and we would receive heaping plates of cookies that would feed an army. And her delicious double dipped fried chicken.
Georgianna would take Jerry, Terry and Renae in her semi for rides and let them blow the horn, which they loved.
Georgianna was a loving sister to Pauline, even though she wanted to give me back to the Indians in Wisconsin when I was born.
Georgianna is survived by her sister Pauline and husband Leroy Niederklein of Tobias, NE, nephews Jerry Niederklein of Syracuse, NE, Terry and wife Stephanie Niederklein of O’Neill, NE, and niece Renae and husband Robert DeWald of Smithville, MO. Great nephews Jeremy Niederklein and wife Chelsea of Wilsonville, OR, Nicholas DeWald and wife Tanya of Gladstone, MO, and Nolan DeWald of Hanover, KS. Great nieces are Nicole DeWald of Smithville, MO, Brandi Niederklein of Beatrice, NE, Kelsie (Niederklein) and husband Drew Davis of Omaha, NE, and Michaela Niederklein of Norfolk, NE, and great-great nephews Crew Nicholas DeWald of Gladstone, MO, and Elijah Michael Davis of Omaha, NE, and great-great niece Sloan O’Neva DeWald of Gladstone, MO, her aunt Corrine Kautzman of Kansas City, MO and special friend Tracy Niederklein and other relatives and many friends, especially her Hospice friends and the nursing staff at the Hebron Nursing Home.
Services will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Chapel in Fairbury with Lana Likens officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
