Henrietta K. (Tietjen) Schlueter, of rural Hardy, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 96. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose life was centered around her faith, her family, and the many people whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 5011 Road C, Byron. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 14th, from 1:00-7:00 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Price Funeral Home in Hebron. Henrietta was born on November 26, 1929, to John and Leona Tietjen in rural Byron, Nebraska. She attended schools in rural Byron and Bruning, Nebraska. On January 7, 1953, she married Marvin Schlueter in Byron, Nebraska. They were blessed with four children: Varena, Hope, Daniel and Phillip.

Henrietta and her husband made their home on a farm near Hardy, where they built a life filled with hard work, love and many cherished memories. She found joy in the simple things - creating with her hands, spending time with family and friends, and serving others through her church.

A talented and devoted seamstress, she spent countless hours sewing and quilting. She made beautiful quilts for her family, friends, and the members of her church. She also sewed clothing for her children and grandchildren and even made the outfits that she and her husband wore while square dancing together.

She and her husband shared a love of square dancing, traveling and dancing together. She was a long time organist at her church and also enjoyed playing the piano. She loved to sing and was a dedicated member of her church choir and the Handel's Messiah choir where she sang on Palm Sundays in Kearney. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed teaching Sunday school where the children referred to her as “grandma”.

In her later years, she continued to stay active and engaged, enjoying tai chi, sewing, playing the piano, continuing to quilt and serving her church community.

She will be deeply missed and remembered by her children, Hope Langdon, Varena Kloepper both of Hastings, Dan (Karmen) Schlueter of Overton, and Phillip of Byron; grandchildren, Melinda (Travis) Sturgill, Lisa (Eric) Wheeler, Kimberly (Jorge) Perez, Jason (Crystal) Kloepper, Jaycee Schlueter and Jaylen Schlueter; great grandchildren Ryker and Hynlee Sturgill, Colbie and Cooper Wheeler, Kade and Kolt Kloepper, Kollyns and Layton Guthard; siblings Ernestine (Beauford) Hoyer, Margaret (Don) Hoffmeyer, Lola (Dick) Schlichtman and Linda (Wes) Oestreich, sisters-in-laws Beulah Tietjen and Carolyn Tietjen.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Leona Tietjen; husband Marvin Schlueter; sons-in-law John Langdon and Gaylen Kloepper, and brothers Frederick Tietjen and Edgar Tietjen.
