James Arthur Glaze Jr.

James Arthur Glaze Jr., a dedicated Navy Chaplain's Assistant and retired member of the US Navy, passed away on March 28, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on July 16, 1953, James lived a life marked by service, love, and devotion to his country and family.

Throughout his esteemed career in the Navy, James exemplified honor, courage, and commitment. His service touched the lives of many, and his kindness and compassion were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

James is survived by his beloved children: James Glaze III and David Glaze from his first marriage to the late Susan Sherrill, and Salvador Welborn and Amber Glaze from his second marriage to the late Christina C. Welborn. Although he mourned the loss of his daughter, Jaime Lynn Glaze, her memory lives on through her two children, Brecken Collins and Jaron Sexton.

Family was paramount to James, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. His legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A celebration of James's life will be held to honor his memory and the impact he had on the lives of many. A mass will be held on April 8, 2024, at 10 am at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Hebron, NE; followed by a graveside service at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
