Jane Rose Ferguson was born November 1, 1929 in Deshler, Nebraska the daughter of Fred and Clara (Kreimeyer) Ferguson. She was baptized on December 1, 1929 at Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, Nebraska by Pastor F. H. Schwerin and confirmed on June 13, 1943 by Pastor Schwerin. She was united in Holy Matrimony on October 21, 1948 to Ernest O. W. Kolling at Peace Lutheran also by Pastor Schwerin. To this union were born Thomas Fred, Carol Lynn, and Mark Douglas. Jane worked at the Deshler Broom Factory as a young woman and had occasional secretarial jobs after her marriage, but mainly she was a devoted farmer’s wife and mother to her two sons and special needs child Carol. She was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church being involved in many activities of the church. In her later years, she was an avid Bridge player with her many friends. Jane was always there for her family and friends to help anyway she could. In April 2014, Jane entered Meadowlark Heights assisted living due to her failing health. She spent the rest of her life there and was very happy. She enjoyed playing the piano and working on her puzzles. She was loved by them and she loved them all. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she was ready to be with her Lord and loved ones. In her final days she told her family she had a good life and was ready to leave this world. She passed from this life Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Thayer County Hospital having just celebrated her 87 th birthday. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernie; daughter Carol Kolling; and her siblings. She will be forever remembered by her sons Tom Kolling and Mark Kolling and wife Judy of Kearney, Nebraska; grandsons Trace Kolling, Travis (Melissa) Kolling, Austin Kolling, and Garrett Kolling; great-grandchildren Taylor, Aubrey, Tyson, Kane and Kinlee; her nieces and nephews Lana Carter, Brad Ferguson, Fred Koch, Joyce Schardt, and Barb Brettman; sister-in-law Velma Koch; other relatives and many friends
