Janel Lichty

Janel Lichty, 91, of Davenport, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron. Janel was born on November 21, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Herman and Jessie (Hawkins) Wyndham. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Until four years ago, Janel was employed as a caregiver at Blue Valley Assisted Living Facility. She was a longtime active member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren in Carleton and a loving, vigilant friend and inspiration to all who knew her.

Janel was preceded in death by her devoted husband Robert, with whom she shared 53 years, and her sister, Loralea Snyder. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Mast (Kelly), Kent Lichty (Carrie), Kirk Lichty (Lyn), and Kyle Lichty (Deb), as well as her grandchildren, Lynnsey Williams (TJ) and Deric Lichty (Erin). Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandsons Wyatt Lichty, Gradin Lichty, and Jace Williams, several step-grandsons and granddaughters, and her close nephew Humphrey Crews (Susan) and their daughter Kelly.

A private family memorial is planned at the Bethel Church of the Brethren in Carleton on April 5, 2025.   The community is invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church, 2494 Rd. 5500, Carleton, NE 68326.
