Jodell (Jody) Lynn Urbauer

CMSgt Jodell L. Urbauer, daughter of Merton and Jean Urbauer, was born July 2, 1948 in Deshler, NE.  She passed away April 3, 2023 at Tiffany Square nursing home in Grand Island, NE at the age of 74.

She attended elementary and graduated high school in Davenport, NE.  Jody enlisted in the Nebraska Air National Guard in 1972 as one of the first females to be sworn into service.  She retired 28 years later as Chief Master Sergeant.

Jody was a member of Eastern Star and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merton & Jean Urbauer.  She is survived by her siblings, John (Deb Urbauer) and Barry Urbauer, 3 nieces, and 4 great nieces & nephews.

Funeral services, burial and celebration of life will be held Friday April 7, 2023 in Davenport, NE.  Services will begin at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church and a celebration of life at the Davenport Community Center will follow burial.

Memorials will go to Start Over Rover in Hastings, NE to help support her love for dogs.
