While living in
Albert Lea

, Judy was matched up by a mutual friend to Lee J. Brewer, who said he knew she was "the one" at their first meeting.
The two were married not long after on December 4, 1966.
Judy and Lee were blessed with the births of Bret in 1968, Jill in 1970, and Scott in 1973.
The couple lived near
Fort Dodge
,
Iowa
, and
Beatrice
,
NE
, before settling in
Hebron
in 1982.
Judy remained in her position as an X-Ray Technician in
Hebron
for 25 years until her retirement in 2007.
She saw the small medical clinic with little radiographic equipment transition to Thayer County Health Services, complete with multimillion dollar CT scanning and electronic imaging equipment. Judy achieved directorship responsibilities and was very proud of the department's expansion and excellent patient care.
Judy had been the recipient of the Caring Kind Award for her services at the hospital. She made her final home in Papillion, where she would find herself close to all her children and near her beloved granddaughters Claire and Mara.
In January 2009, Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She battled the disease relentlessly for nearly two years.
Judy deeply enjoyed the challenge of bridge play with her buddies in
Hebron
, Deshler, and then Papillion. Judy knew no strangers, just people she had not yet met.
She thoroughly enjoyed the company of others and learning their stories.
Preceded in death by husband Lee J. and mother Evelein Cole.
Survived by children Bret, Omaha, NE; Jill (Steve) Snodgrass, Papillion, NE; Scott (Cher), Papillion, NE; granddaughters Claire and Mara; brother Al (Sue) Jorgensen, Albert Lea, MN; niece Melissa (Troy) Gaul, Minneapolis, MN; Amanda (Scott) Sherpe, Boulder, CO; Elizabeth (Richard) Archer, grand-nieces Sabrina and Rebecca, loving friends, colleagues and bridge buddies.
