Kenneth Eugene Degenhardt, age 73, of Hebron, Nebraska, went to be with his heavenly Father on February 7th, 2024 after a 2 year battle with cancer.

Kenny was baptized, confirmed and an active lifelong member of Hebron Methodist Church.  He graduated from Hebron High School in 1968 and attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln for two years. Kenny married his best friend, Pamela Valek, on April 3, 1971 and their union was blessed with 4 children - Mark, Jason, Kendra and Tami. After their wedding, Kenny and Pam moved to Ulysses, NE for a short time where he managed a registered black angus cattle herd and farming operation for J.P. Mahoney. In 1972, they relocated to Hebron where he purchased his first cattle herd & hogs and started his own farming operation. He enjoyed being able to work side by side with his dad and in later years with his children and grandchildren instilling in them the value of a hard work ethic.

Kenny had a lifetime love of farming and an avid desire to travel. He was most proud of his family and especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He combined two of his passions by frequently taking the family on vacations to beautiful outdoor locations including Hawaii, Steamboat Springs, skiing at Granby and Wyoming, Oregon, Yellowstone and most recently spending Thanksgiving together in Branson, MO.

Kenny never failed to brighten a room with his big smile or entertain a crowd with his jokes and laughter.
