LaVern Alfred Bundy was born on October 14, 1938, in North Loup, Nebraska, the son of Alfred and Emma Bundy. He passed away on April 25, 2026, at his home in Davenport, Nebraska, at the age of 87.

LaVern attended school until he entered the workforce. On May 5, 1959, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Bonin, and to this union five children were born. LaVern most recently worked as a sanitation technician in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Upon their retirements, Dorothy and LaVern relocated to Davenport. LaVern enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing, watching football and wrestling events, and watching westerns. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Emma, wife Dorothy, and son Kirk. He is survived by his sons; Clint Bundy and wife Lorie, Audie Bundy, and Bill Bundy; and his daughter, Sherry Anderson and her husband John. LaVern is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, Nebraska. Viewing and visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will follow the services at the Davenport City Cemetery. Following the cemetery services, the family will greet friends at a luncheon at RW’s West, downtown Davenport.
