Laverne Marian Bauer

Laverne Marian Bauer, 74 of Chester, NE passed away at home on March 11, 2023. Laverne was born February 7, 1949 to Dale and Pauline (O’Neal) Bauer in Deshler, NE.

Laverne is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Pauline (O’Neal) Bauer; brothers, Duane Bauer, Gaylan Bauer and Gerald “Zeke” Bauer.

Laverne is survived by his wife Selma (Roland) Bauer; daughter Danelle “Nelly” Lane-Vasa and children Iziaha, Braxton and Laney of Fairbury; Son Austin Packett (Cheyenne) and children Addalyn and Abel of Beatrice; nephew, Matthew (Rebecca) Bauer and children Zach, Logan, and Jackson of Clatonia; aunts Donna Ward of Yakoma, WA, and Barbara Jones and Michelle of Russell, KS; sister-in-law Vickie Troxel and family of Endicott; brothers-in-law Darrell Roland and family of Ponca, Mark S. Roland of Chester, and Jesse Roland and family of Fairbury; cousins Russ and Michelle Raatz of Roca, Marie Bauer of Trainer, IA, Donald and Ashley of Las Vegas, NV, Wes (Judy) Tracy and family, Christine McMahon and family, his beloved dog Thena “Sully Girl”, and all of his biker family and friends.

May the sun rise in front of me, the rain fall behind me and the wind follow me.

May the Angels guard my travels for they know what is ahead of me.

Keep me safe through rolling hills and swirling turns.

Let the eagle guide me to the mountain tops.

Let the moons light guide me through the night.

Lord, thank you for letting me be a biker.
