LeAnn Margaret Fritzler was born on April 25, 1950, in Nelson, Nebraska, to Earl and Edna (Grummert) Petz. LeAnn attended country grade school in Nora, and later high school in Nelson, where she graduated with the class of 1968. Following graduation, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she obtained her degree in Home Economics. She then entered the workforce, working as a Home Economics extension agent in Bridgeport, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Gary Fritzler on October 12, 1974, at the Presbyterian Church in Nelson. Gary continued to farm at Broadwater, Nebraska, and LeAnn continued working as an extension agent. Following her work with the extension office, LeAnn began substitute teaching at local schools and assisting Gary on the farm. Her love for teaching led her to enroll at Chadron State College. Eventually the couple settled in Walt Hill, Nebraska, where she continued her teaching career at the Macy Indian Reservation near Walt Hill, and finished her enrollment at Chadron State College where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Later, she taught at Winnebago, Nebraska, Laurel, Nebraska, and Plainview, Nebraska where she retired. Following retirement, the couple relocated to Hebron in 2020 to be closer to family.

LeAnn was a member of the Lutheran faith, and was involved in the Women’s groups and Bible Study groups at the churches that she and Gary attended. She was most recently a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilead. LeAnn enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, and she enjoyed making greeting, holiday, and birthday cards, that she mailed to her many family and friends.

LeAnn passed away on April 18, 2026, at the Blue Valley Nursing Home in Hebron, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edna Petz, and brother-in-law Keith Fraley.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Gary, sister Elaine Fraley, nieces, nephews, and a community of friends.

Memorial services will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilead, date and time to be announced later.

Memorials are requested to the ELCA World Hunger Fund, and may be mailed in care of the family to Price Funeral Home, PO Box 187, Hebron, Nebraska 68370.
