Lenora I. (Bruns) Frank was born January 21, 1929 to John and Anna (Peters) Bruns on a farm near Hardy, NE. She was baptized at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Byron, NE. She passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021 at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 14 days at the Homestead House in Beatrice, NE.
Lenora grew up in Deshler, NE where she attended elementary school and graduated from Deshler High School in 1947. In her younger years, she worked at the Deshler Broom Factory, and after graduation worked at the Christensen’s Rexall Drug Store in Hebron, NE for five plus years.
She was married to Robert A. Frank on April 25, 1952 at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. Bob and Lenora were life-long residents of Carleton, NE and members of Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton. To this union were born two children, Linda Sue and James Alan. Lenora enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She never missed one of her children’s extracurricular events and was proud to say that she and Bob had traveled to every state in the entire United States. She also enjoyed collections; her Fenton cardinal collection and her 1920’s flapper beads collection were two of her favorites.
Reaching retirement age, Lenora and her husband, Bob, moved to the Villa at Flowing Springs in Beatrice, NE, a retirement community, where they spent many wonderful years together enjoying children, grandchildren and great-grandsons, all the love of her life.
Lenora is preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Bruns, her husband, Robert Frank; grandson, Christopher Sattler; sister, Lorene Buntemeyer; brothers, Lester, Raymond, Ervin, Vernon and Elmer Bruns; brothers-in-law, Paul Buntemeyer and George Liebe; sisters-in-law, Wilma, Ruby and Leona Bruns; and a niece, Barbara Basinger.
Lenora is survived by her daughter, Linda (Greg) Sattler; son, James (Barb) Frank; grandchildren, Barton (Lisa) Sattler, Kristin Sattler (Tyler Fischer), Jonathan (Katie) Frank, Alex Frank (Rachel Schatz); twin great-grandsons, Charles and Otto Frank; sister, Thelma Liebe; and many nieces and nephews.
