Lillian Viola Hartley, daughter of George and Bertie (Armstrong) Marolf, was born on November 11th, 1911 in Cheyenne Wells, CO. She passed away on December 19, 2012, at the age of 101 years, 1 month, and 8 days at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron . She moved to Hebron with her family at the age of 5. Lillian was united in marriage to Harold Hartley on June 6, 1931. This union was blessed with three children; Jim, Merle and Wilma. Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church , the United Methodist Women and a member of the County Election Board. She taught at a country school and also taught Sunday school. Lillian and Harold moved from the farm to Hebron in 1965. She loved to go fishing, camping, playing cards and the piano and helping Harold on the farm. She crocheted for herself, her family and for people of the community. Lillian was a very devoted farm wife and mother, working in the fields right along with Harold, shucking corn, raising chickens and much more. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold in 1998; a daughter Wilma Engel and son-in-law Don Engle; brothers, Rhea, Robert, Elmer, Glen and Charles; great-granddaughter Taylor ; and great-great-grandson Hunter. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jim (Carol) Hartley of Hebron and Merle Hartley of Hebron; grandchildren and their spouses, Tim (Wendy) Hartley of Hebron, David Hartley of Hebron, Brian (Yvonne) Hartley of Lincoln, Mike (Vicki) Crosgrove of Hebron, Diane (Randy) Smith of Hebron and Ron (Kim) Engel of Milford; great grandchildren, Devon, Trevor, Glenna, Heather, Amber, Krista, Kara, Dustin, Destinee, Jeremy and Sarah; and great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Remy and Calin; and many nieces and nephews.
