Linda Kay Sterba (Deepe), 73, of Hebron, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her home on July 22, 2024, surrounded by her children. Born on April 3, 1951, in Deshler, Nebraska, Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, cherished for her love of family and her skills in camping and cooking.

She was raised and schooled in the Belvidere / Hebron area.  Linda graduated from Hebron High School with the class of 1969.  She married Rickey Widler and devoted herself to raising their three children. Later in life, she married a second time to her best friend, Gerald (Jerry) Sterba, forming a blended family until his death earlier this year.

While the children were young, Linda taught bible study, was a boy and girl scout mom, assisted with 4-H, Belvidere Better Homemakers Extension, Ladies Aid Society and Women's Club.  Linda worked at Blue Valley Lutheran Home for several years, extending her caring nature to those around her.

While her hobbies were few, Linda considered her most important and rewarding job was being a mother and wife. She found joy in camping, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Tefeney Schulte and Tori (Jim) Hergott; her son, Tyson (Sheri) Widler; and her stepchildren, Teresa Fuller and Tim (Deanna) Sterba. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda’s family remembers her as the heart of their lives, always striving to provide love and care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Norma (Henderson) Deepe; her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Sterba; her grandson, Matthew Sterba; and her brothers, Max Deepe, Jack Deepe, and Roger Deepe.

Her final resting place will be at Hebron Cemetery following a private graveside service. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at the Belvidere Community Center from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024. Price Funeral Home in Hebron, Nebraska, is assisting the family.
