Linda D. Urbauer, the daughter of Dean and Lila (Snyder) Urbauer, was born on February 2, 1945 in

She passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in
Emerson
,
Nebraska
, at the age of 66 years, after a 14 year battle with breast cancer. At an early age Linda's family moved to
Lincoln
and she graduated from
Lincoln
Southeast
High School
with the class of 1965. She worked at Gold's Department Store before moving to
San Francisco
,
California
with her friends.
There she stayed for 45 years enjoying the beauty that
San Francisco
has to offer.
She worked at several jobs including the Bank of San Francisco, until its closing.
She then moved back to
Nebraska
to be closer to her family.
Her love of horses found expression in carousel horses in
California
, and when she moved back she was able to make her dream of having her own horse a reality.
Although she didn't ride much, her horse brought her much joy and peace.
Linda enjoyed simple things like garage sales, flea markets, shopping, camping, and loved the water.
She was content to just sit outside on the deck and watch the horses, goats and chickens do their thing.
Not having room for a garden in
San Francisco
, she was thrilled to putter around in her own garden here. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila, and a sister-in-law, Connie.
Linda is survived by her father, Dean Urbauer of Ong, Nebraska; brother Richard Urbauer of Lincoln; sister, Julie Kelly and husband, Owen of Winnebago; brother, James Urbauer and wife Tammy of Lincoln; two nieces and 5 nephews and many cousins.
She is also survived by her best friend Judy Bohannon of
Stockton
,
California
.
