Loetta Joan (Wit) Krause was born August 25, 1929 in rural Hubbell, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Josie (Borovicka) Wit. She attended rural schools and then attended Hubbell High School graduating with the Class of 1946. On November 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Harvey Krause at the Lutheran Church in Hubbell. Their union was blessed with three daughters: Jennifer, Valerie and Melissa. Loetta and Harvey moved to Gilead, Nebraska in 1949. She worked as a janitor for the Gilead Grade School, as a seamstress at Swingsters; and for many years at the Blue Valley Care Home. Loetta was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron. She enjoyed all types of handiwork, gardening, and especially loved being with her family. Loetta unexpectedly died Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 87 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; husband Harvey in 1988; sons-in-law Jim Lee and Bob Kaenel; twin great-grandsons Kase & Keaton Leisinger; her brothers; and brothers & sisters-in-law. Loetta will be forever remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Lee (Kevin), Greenwood, Nebraska, Valerie (Dave) Kellner, Wahoo, Nebraska, Melissa (Galen) Sasse, Deshler, Nebraska; grandchildren, Brandon Lee (Nicole), Stephanie (Brian) Leisinger, Stacey Colgrove (Doug), Claire and Matthew Sasse; great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Avery Leisinger, Zach Colgrove, Cindy and Wyatt Ebeling; sister, Rose Krause, Hebron; many other relatives and a host of friends.
