Louanna A. Doering

Louanna Ann Doering, the daughter of Ernest and Clara (Pieschke) Grabau, was born on April 10, 1931 on a farm near Chester , Nebraska . She passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron at 80 years, 6 months and 30 days of age. She was baptized on April 19, 1931 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester , Nebraska by Rev. L. Strasen. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church on April 29, 1945 by Rev. E. B. Hilst. Her confirmation verse was Rev. 2:10: Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. She attended Concordia Teachers College in Seward and then taught 9 years at a Lutheran school; one year at Blackburn, MO; Philadelphia one year; and in Leigh, NE 7 years. She was united in marriage to Richard John Doering on August 19, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church , Chester , Nebraska . This union was blessed with two daughters, Kristin and Karla. Louanna was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Deshler. Over her lifetime she was active in many church activities and organizations. She sang in the church choir, was a church greeter, taught Sunday School and attended adult bible class. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by father, Ernest Grabau, her mother, Clara Grabau, husband, Richard Doering on August 4, 2007, sister-in-law, Amanda Grabau and brother, Herbert Grabau. Louanna is survived by her daughters - Kristin Doering of Byron, NE; and Karla (Anthony) Deepe of Deshler, NE; two granddaughters - Amber and Autumn Deepe; brother - Merton (Irma) Grabau of Owatonna, MN; three sisters-in-law - Norma Doering of Superior, NE., Ingeborg Perlebach of Omaha, NE., and Francis Paustian of Grand Island, NE; many other relatives and friends.
