Millard Sayre "Mac" McVay, Jr. (retired Army, Staff Sgt,) July 16, 1940 to June 5, 2020. Millard was born in Washington D.C. to Millard Sayre McVay, Sr. and Maxine Amelia Pease. He died in Hebron, Nebraska at the Thayer County Hospital. Millard was a 20 year Army veteran. He spent most of his military career in Germany in Army aviation, helicopters.
He married Janette Aileen Wright, July 18, 1961. They had two children that they adopted while stationed in Germany. After returning to the U.S., they had a son that they named Keith. Keith passed away at the age of 2 months from SIDS. Millard married wife #2, Glenna Smith on November 23, 1985. Millard married wife #3, Doris Ann Curns on February 6, 1993. Millard married wife #4, Franciena Middendorph on July 6, 2004 and wife #5, Leslie E. (Sackman) Hollander on June 30, 2007.
Millard is survived by his wife Leslie, son Millard Sayre McVay III, and daughter Esther Ruth Keeler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Janette, Glenna, and Doris.
Direct cremation services were chosen. A private family memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 320 N. 26th St., Beatrice, Nebraska later this year. Inurnment will be in the National Veterans Cemetery.
