Minnie J. Wolford

Minnie J. Wolford, the daughter of John and Edith (Bushong) Coordsen, was born February 7, 1928 on the family farm north of Gilead, NE. She passed from this life on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 85 years.

She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1945. Minnie was united in marriage to John Wolford on June 6, 1948 at the Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, NE. This union was blessed with three children.

Minnie loved being a teacher, from her younger brothers to earning her teaching certificate after high school. She continued teaching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her life. She sold Avon for 48 years, earning many achievement awards throughout her career.

Minnie enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and traveling. She was a member of the First Community Church, the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Avon Presidents Club.

Those that preceded her in death are her parents; her husband, John; and 3 brothers, Ernie, John and George.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses; Nancy (Ken) Hofts of Hebron, NE, Barbara (Rodney) Howard of Burr Oak, KS, and Mark Wolford of Goodyear, AZ; brothers, Walter (Marjure) Coordsen of Gilead, NE and Bob (Gail) Coordsen of Gainesville, FL; a sister-in-law Janice (wife of George) Coordsen of Gilead; grandchildren, Jason (Kristin) Hofts, Amanda Hofts, Tyler (Jen) Wolford; Alex, Austin, Mason and Kellen Hofts, and Rylan Wolford.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the First Community Church in Hebron with Pastor Steven Speichinger officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Price Funeral Home in Hebron. Interment will be in Hebron City Cemetery following the service. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date or to the Nebraska Honor Flight.
