Phyllis Rae Stierwalt

Phyllis Rae Stierwalt was born on August 17, 1938 to Victor & Amanda Issacson in Courtland, Kansas. She passed away from this world on June 29, 2014, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to the love of her life and who she said was her best friend, Max Dale Stierwalt, on September 27, 1954. This union was blessed with 3 daughters, Peggy Jo, Cindy Lou and Bonnie Kay. Phyllis’ greatest joy was raising her 3 girls, being actively involved in the lives of 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Each generation in the family knew they would see the bright smile of Grandma Phyllis at every special event in their lives. Phyllis never knew a stranger. With the gift of gab and a zest of life, combined with a positive outlook Phyllis had a friend everywhere she went.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Max of Hebron; daughters, Peggy Sandersfeld and husband, Rob of Beatrice, Cindy McGinty of Hebron, and Bonnie Bures and husband, Greg of Geneva; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson and wife, Jessie of Hebron; Kathy Krumme of Fairbury; Debra McGinty of Lincoln; Gary McGinty of Shickley; Jeremy Howard of Lincoln; Dannielle Bures of York; Kiefer Bures of Geneva; and Spencer Bures of York; great-grandchildren, Julie, Tregan, and Reese Johnson of Hebron; Callie and Brenden Krumme of Fairbury; sister, Betty Lyons of Hastings; brothers-in-law, Bill and wife, Faith of Beatrice; Bug & Lois Stierwalt of Superior; sisters-in-law, Mary Wheeland of Nelson; JoAnn Rothchild of Superior; and Sue Renter of Valley, NE.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at Price Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Friesen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Wednesday 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM with family greeting guests from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Hebron. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Memorials may go to the volunteers of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department.
