Ralph H. Schardt

Ralph Henry Schardt, the son of Ernst and Lillie (Vetter) Schardt, was born on the family farm in rural Carlton,Nebraskaon June 1920. He passed away on pm September 4, 2015 at home in HebronNebraska at the ageof 95years 2 months and 22 days.He was baptized on June 20, 1924and confirmed May 13, 1934 by Rev. Droegemueller in Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau. His confirmation verse was Revelation 2:10, "be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life." He attended school at Trinity Lutheran through the 8th grade and the completed class 9th and 10th grade at Carleton High School.Ralph was united in marriage to Hulda Krenke on August 6,1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church Friedensau by the Rev. Droegemueller. This union was blessed with 6 children, Audrey, Laura, Everett, Larry, Marvin and Lila.Ralph and Hulda farmed in the Friedensauand Carleton areas.was drafted into the armed services during World War II and served as his country for over 3 1/2 years. During this time he was a driverfor a general. After Ralph's return from service they continued farming in the Friedensau area until retirement, even after retirement he was very active in the family farm. They moved to Hebronin1993.Ralph loved his family and all facets of farming.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hulda, his parents, his sister Gertrude Nehrig, Lillie Holtzen, brothers Harry, Elmar, Verland and Wayne. In laws Robert Nehrig, Paul Wegener, Milton Holtzen Alice Schardt, Elsie Schardt, Anita Schardt , Martin Krenke, Norbert and Lucille Neuhart. Grandsons Philip Schardt, Jeffrey Schardt and Richard Schmadeke. He is survived by his children Audrey Schardt of Cozad, Laura Schmadeke and husband David of Springfield Illinois, Everett Schardt and wife Marilyn, Larry Schardt, MarvinSchardt and wife Diane all of Hebron and Lila and HusbandBrian of Cozad, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. David Schardt and wife, Merlo, and their children Katie, Karen,Krista and Jonathan,Brian and wife Julene and their sons Darren, Cale, Blake and Dillon, Joy Barton and husband Ross and their children Brianna and Lane, Kelli Schardt and children Conner and Lakin, Amy Weatherl and Husband Brant and children Chloe and Carson, Jennifer Worcester and husband Nick, Jeremy and wife Addison and son Cameron,Andrew Schmadeke,Rebecca and Sara Weber. sister Mabel Wegener of Hebron Sister-in-law Mabel Krenke of Beatrice and Elaine Schardt of Carleton, nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday September 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler Nebraska with Rev. Brian Francikofficiating. Music was congregational hymns, "Nearer My God to Thee" , "I know that My Redeemer Lives" and "Amazing Grace " with Anita Harms as organist.Pallbearers were Ralph's grandsons David Schardt, Brian Schardt, Jeremy Schardt, Andrew Schmadeke, BrantWeatherl, Nick Worcester, Ross Barton. Honorary Pallbearers Joy Barton, Amy Weatheral, Jennifer Worcester, Rebecca Weber,Sara Weber, Merlo Schardt, Julene Schardt, and Adison Schardt, Kelli Schardt. Interment was in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery at Deshler, Nebraska.
