Ramona June Kenning

Ramona June Kenning was born June 17, 1933 in Hebron, Nebraska, to Edd and Lillian (Trecek) Baxa and passed away October 1, 2021 at Courtyard Terrace in Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 15 days. Ramona was a 1951 graduate of Hebron High School. On December 14, 1952, Ramona was united in marriage to Lorence Rae Kenning and after 13 years of marriage they were blessed with four children, Alan, Rodney, Ranae, and Aaron.

Ramona graduated from Beauty School in Lincoln, NE. In her lifetime she worked a variety of positions which included being a Hairstylist, working for the Lincoln Telephone Company, at the Thayer County Courthouse and sold Home Interiors for many years. She most enjoyed working with her husband, Lorence, as owners of Ken-Boy Motors. Her most accomplished and proudest title was being a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Upon her retirement she loved to volunteer at Things N Stuff and on occasion worked at the Riverside Motel in Hebron. She was an active member of the Hebron community. Ramona's memberships included United Methodist Church in Hebron, United Methodist Women's Club, Avalon Club, the Centennial Extension Club and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years, and various other women and card clubs.

Her hobbies and enjoyments included gardening, flowers, reading, playing cards, canning, caring for her animals, and attending the many activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Ramona loved growing up on the farm and she shared this love of farming, camping, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors with her children.  She was known for having a smile that could light up the room, bringing joy and value to the people she met and the things she did. Ramona was always good for a laugh, full of spunk, and wit up until the time of her passing.

Preceding Ramona in death were her parents, Edd and Lillian Baxa; husband, Lorence Kenning; son, Rodney Kenning; infant brother, Charles Baxa; Great-Granddaughter, Sydney Kenning; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary and Ralph Bert, Tad and Helen Enyeart, Johnny and Ruth Nowaczyk. She is survived by her children: Alan (Debra) Kenning of Hebron, Ranae (Rick) Hintz of Hebron, Aaron (Tamara) Kenning of Beaver Crossing, NE. Grandchildren; Adison (Samantha) Kenning of Ceresco, NE; Destry (Clara) Kenning of Omaha, NE; Allie (Nathan) Behlke of Benkelman, NE; Dalton (Callie) Kenning of Wood River, NE; Dietric Kenning (Special Friend Madison Blackstone) of Lincoln, NE;  Kale (Alexandra) Hintz of Hastings, NE; Clayton Hintz (Fiance’ Alex Medina) of Hebron, NE; Kylea Hintz (Fiancé' Shane Stan) of Omaha, NE; Chloe Hintz (Special Friend Colby Peterson) of Hebron, NE. Joey, Lilly, Emily, Beau Kenning all of Beaver Crossing, NE. Great-Grandchildren; Kenley, Cainan Kenning of Ceresco, NE; Bryndle, Beckham, Bensyn Behlke of Benkelman, NE.  Brother, Dr. Robert (Diane) Baxa of Beatrice, NE; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
