Raymond L. Boyce, 68, of Hebron, NE, passed away on August 1, 2013, at his home in Hebron, NE. He was born in Fairbury, NE on February 23, 1945, the son of Raymond Boyce and Goldie (Woods) Boyce.
He owned and operated the Derby Station in Fairbury for several years. Ray also bought a town named Buffalo City south of Nebraska City where he operated it as a tourist attraction for many years. He also followed in his step father's footsteps and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed fishing, going for drives, animals, candy, loved classic cars and collecting coins and knives. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children and their spouses, April and Jeff Morrison of Lincoln, NE, Trevor and Stacy Boyce of Plymouth, NE, Ryan and Stacy Boyce of Tobias, NE, Justin Boyce of Heborn, NE and Chelsea and her significant other Kiefer Bures of Hebron, NE; sisters and their spouses, Connie and Glenn Mewes of Blue Springs, NE and Wanda Just of Beatrice, NE; and a brother-in-law, Robert Helget.
Those also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, David, Josh and Amber Morrison and Brett, Brooke, Brittany, Breanna, and Braylin Boyce.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Chester Kellie; sister, Sharon Kay Helget; and brother-in-law, Larry Just.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Steele City Cemetery in Steele City, NE. There will be a book signing at Price Funeral Home in Hebron on Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
