Robert Jack Krakow was born April 1, 1931, in Alexandria, NE to George and Jessie (Johnson) Krakow. He departed this life on June 8, 2022, at Thayer County Health Services at the age of 91.
Jack attended Hebron High School and graduated with the class of 1951.
He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Scheil on August 8, 1960, at the Catholic church in Exeter, NE. This marriage was blessed with a son and a daughter.
They lived on a farm east of Hebron. Jack worked at Williams Drilling in Belvidere, NE for many years, while also farming. He eventually left Williams Drilling and farmed full time.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going to tractor pulls and demo derbys with his family. He loved farming, and teaching his children how to farm and raise livestock. He was always ready to help his neighbors out if they needed him. He enjoyed taking family vacations, and traveling with Mary Lou. Later in life, after Mary Lou passed and his grandson Colby moved in with him, they would go on trips. He always said he loved that the most because he could finally be in the passenger seat and look at the scenery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Lou; brother Kenny and wife Betty Krakow; sister Marcella and husband Ernie Polage; son Ervin Krakow; granddaughter Brett Christian; brothers in law Jim Scheil, Tom Scheil, Ed Scheil, Richard Scheil, and sister in law Lonnie Day.
He is survived by his daughter Jessica and husband Kevin Christian of Hebron, NE; grandsons Colby Klaus of Hebron, NE, Chevy and wife Breya Christian of Lincoln, NE, Timmin and wife Kallie Christian of Lincoln, NE; great-grandsons Raiden and Greyson Christian of Lincoln, NE; brothers in law Donnie (Nancy) Scheil of Norfolk, VA, Dave (Barb) Scheil of Lake Elsinore, CA, Charlie (Sandy) Scheil of Fairmont, Bob Scheil of Ruskin, NE; sisters in law Marabelle Rustermeir of Lincoln, NE and Mary Jean Dale of Pleasanton, NE; relatives and a host of friends.
The family will hold a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hebron Bible Church in Hebron. Inurnment at the Belvidere Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family at 1174 Road 6500, Hebron, NE 68370.
