Roy George West, the son of Harry and Frieda (Kehres) West, was born on a rural farm near Deshler, Nebraska, on May 4, 1921. He passed from this life on September 10, 2014, at the age of 93 years.



He was baptized in St Peters Lutheran Church May 22, 1921, confirmed May 4, 1935 and married to Lorrayne (Pat) Ferebee on May 16, 1948.



Roy was a lifetime member of St Peter’s Lutheran church. As a dedicated member of St. Peter’s he taught Sunday School and in retirement enjoyed serving on the bulletin committee and delivering bulletins to the resident’s of Parkview Haven Nursing Home.



He graduated from Deshler High School and Hebron Community College. He served in the Army and following his honorable discharge from the Army on October 31, 1945, he worked in Tobias, Nebraska, before purchasing the family farm just a mile south of Deshler. He also worked as a Tax Preparer.



He was preceded in death by his parents and wife (Pat). Roy is survived by daughter, Deborah West of Lincoln, sons, Allen and wife, Julie West of Conway, Arkansas, Tim and wife, Donna West, of Lincoln, Nebraska, James and wife, Mary West of Malcolm, Nebraska, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.



Celebration of life will beheld Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 10:30 AM, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler, Nebraska with Rev. Brian Francik, officiating.



At the request of the family in lieu of flowers you make a donation to "The Gardens", at Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home, 755 S. 3 rd Street, Hebron, Nebraska. In addition, practice random acts of kindness in remembrance of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
