Suzanne Jean Wood

Suzanne was born on October 1, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and passed away on November 12, 2021, at Thayer County Memorial Hospital in Hebron, Nebraska, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 11 days. Maynard and Velva (Nelson) Engdahl of Uehling, Nebraska, adopted Suzanne at a young age. She was an only child. She was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Oakland, Nebraska. She spent her school age years at Uehling, attending public school and graduated with the class of 1971.

After graduation, she moved to Fremont, and held several jobs. Suzanne was united in marriage with Kim L. Wood on March 21, 1981, and to them one son was born, Scott D. Wood.

After marriage, the couple lived in Deshler, Belvidere, Hebron, Daykin and Bruning. Suzanne was a homemaker. Suzanne was an avid walker and could be seen walking the streets in the various towns where she lived. She loved to laugh and her laugh was contagious. She was a resident of Blue Valley Lutheran Care Center at Hebron for two years prior to her death.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her adopted parents, her in-laws, and two brothers in law. She is survived by her husband, Kim, of Belleville, Kansas; son, Scott, of Western; brother in law, Dennis, of Glasco, Kansas; sister-in-law, Jan, of Belleville, Kansas; and a host of nephews, a niece, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Belvidere, Nebraska, with Pastor Kim Dunker officiating. Burial will be at the Belvidere Community Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Price Funeral Home in Hebron. Memorials may be directed to the family at 2402 L Street, Belleville, Kansas 66935. Price Funeral Home of Hebron assisted the family with arrangements.
