Vera Vinkenberg Schardt passed away at Parkview Haven, Deshler, Nebraska on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Vera Lydia Anna Vinkenberg and her twin brother, Vern Theodore Vinkenberg, were born to Herman and Clara Marie (Thieman) Vinkenberg on May 16, 1921 at Carleton, Nebraska. They were baptized on May 22, 1921 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau. She lived with her family on their farm south of Carleton and attended Trinity North School. She and Vern were confirmed in their Christian faith on May 26, 1935. On June 22, 1941 Vera and Edgar Schardt were united in marriage at Trinity. They were blessed with three children, Susan, Allen and Carol. She and Edgar farmed in the Carleton area and were life-long members of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide Society. Vera was preceded in death by her twin brother Vern; her parents; her husband Edgar in 2000; sister Lorna Raess and husband Raymond; brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrence & Irma Ohlrich, Paul and Grace Schardt, Reuben Rupprecht, Leonard and Alice Schardt, Wayne Siebenneicher, Herman and Valora Wurtz, Delmar Eickman, and Lawrence Ritterling. She will be forever remembered by her children, Susan and Richard Bowser, Allen and Joyce Schardt, Carol and George Dellapa; grandchildren and spouses, Andrew Pohlmann, Michael and Deb Schardt, Kathy and Doug Holtzen, Emilie and David Mcllroy, and Anna Dellapa; step grandchildren Robert and Tammy Bowser and Valerie and Rudy Trevino; great grandchildren, Krista, Joel and Emilie Schardt, Brett and Jennifer Holtzen; step great grandchildren, Serafina, Lauren and Nico Trevino, Evangeline and Dora Bowser, Katie, Harry, Rebecca, and Emily Mcllroy; brothers and sisters-in-law Lorine Rupprecht, Emily Siebenneicher, Florence Eickman, Frances Ritterling, Mildred and Elmer Holtzen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
