Wayne Harvey Krenke

Wayne Harvey Krenke was born to Mathilda and Theodore Krenke November 29, 1934 at Hebron, NE, and passed away November 10, 2024 at Thayer County Health Services hospital.  He was baptized and confirmed at rural Friedensau Trinity Lutheran Church in Thayer County.   He also received his education there and briefly in Deshler High School.

He helped on his parents farm and also worked at several other jobs.

On June 24, 1956, he married Jeanette Ann Hoops at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE.  They lived in Fairbury, NE, then Killeen, TX and Fort Hood, and Bad Nauheim Germany during two years in the US Army, stationed in Butzbach.

Upon their return home they moved to a family farm near Hardy, NE and became members of St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural Byron.  He was a 50-plus year meber of Byron Lions Club.

To this union two sons, Brad (born in Frankfurt, Germany) and Todd were born.  The family was very active in the Byron, NE community and St. Peter Lutheran Church and lived and farmed in Nuckolls, Thayer and Republic Counties.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, his parents, sister-in-law Mary Krenke, and brothers-in-law Tom Struve and Herb Cook, and brother Ralph Krenke.

He is survived by his sons, Brad and wife Crystal of Hebron, NE, and Todd and his wife Jeanne of Bartlesville, OK.  Grandchildren:  Jessica (Krenke) Lara and husband Andrew of Decatur, TX; Jared and wife Sarah of Lincoln, NE, Nicolas Bouray and wife Jessica of Owasso, OK, Miranda (Krenke) Mills and husband Keith of Monett, Missouri, Willy and Leann Gann of Wagoner, OK, Sabrina and Shane Mydland of Phoenix, AZ.  Great-grandchildren:  Lourdes Lara, Audrey, Caitlyn, Hadley, Cecelia and Davis Bouray, Alexyia, Sullivan and Slade Mills, Landon, Wyatt and Lynlee Gann, Kira and Dillon Marshall.  Brother Lavern (Lorene) Krenke of Kearney, NE;  Sister-in-law Carrol Struve of Palm Desert, CA; other relatives, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Wayne and Jeanette enjoyed vacationing so very much and they reached 49 states!  They loved to travel together and Dad also was really into the tractor drives around the state, enjoyed deer hunting for many years, and went 4-wheeling with friends also!  Friends and family were everything!  He will be missed!

Memorials are designated to:  Wayne Krenke Memorial, Tractor Relay Across Nebraska and Operation Comfort Warriors.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Byron, with Vicar Jack Roegner officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, rural Byron.  A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Price Funeral Home in Hebron.  The family will be greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Price Funeral Home of Hebron is assisting the family with arrangements.
