William (Bill) Brown, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, joined his loved ones in heaven Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 83 years. He was born March 18, 1934 at Circleville, New York. Bill leaves behind his daughter Naomi Tuttle and son-in-law Michael Tuttle of Alexandria, NE. His grandchildren William Roelfs and wife Terri Roelfs, along with great-grandchildren Garrett and Cassidy Roelfs of Fairbury, NE. His granddaughter April Roelfs, her fiancé Luke Kling and his great-granddaughter to be Kylee Kling of Fairbury, NE. Bill served in the USAF and retired after 20 years. He was stationed at Missouri, Illinois, Canada, Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines. He was very proud to be a Veteran and he belonged to the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Bill enjoyed fishing, to the extent of even making his own wooden fishing bobbers. He started at 8 years of age, cutting off his mother’s broom handle, then getting spanked with the broom. He has given away his bobbers to almost everyone he has ever met. Bill was crazy about Christmas. His home was always covered with lights. He was also a great help to Santa Claus. Every year for the last 40 years, he portrayed the "big guy" at nursing homes and other people’s homes. In the true spirit of the season, he never charged a fee and provided gifts for young and old out of his own pocket, keeping the spirit of Christmas everlasting. Bill never met a stranger. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it. He was always ready with a joke. Gone before him was his wife Ruby Rose Brown, 2 nd wife Mildred Brown, and lifelong friend Gertie Courtney. Gone to Heaven, to the placid waters, Bill can fish forever, tell his fish stories, and meet old friends. Your family will miss you in our lives and the love that you touched us with.
Direct cremation services were chosen. A memorial service in remembrance of Bill will be held at a later date in Milan, Missouri. Memorials in his honor may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Price Funeral Home, Hebron, Nebraska.
